A star of Disney’s popular “High School Musical” franchise, Vanessa Hudgens, has a wonderfully mixed ethnic background; In basic terms, her mother came from Philippines and her father is American, but that is just the beginning. Vanessa was quoted: “Pretty much I’m Filipino and Caucasian but within that, I’m Spanish, Chinese, American Indian, Irish.” Vanessa loves being a Filipina. She said,” there aren’t very many Filipino girls in the industry. So being able to stand up and be that girl makes me proud.” Vanessa has not yet visited the Philippines, but plans to in the future.
Vanessa began performing at an early age, appearing in musicals starting at age eight, by taking over for a friend who couldn’t go to the audition, and moved to Los Angeles after winning an audition for a commercial.
Vanessa Hudgens’ largest role among teenage audiences has been starring as the brainy student Gabriella in the Disney Channel movie High School Musical, which premiered in January 2006; BBC News said that the film’s success turned Hudgens into a “household name” in North America. She went on to star in the sequel, High School Musical 2. Hudgens’ Gabriella plays opposite her high school’s basketball star, Troy, played by Zac Efron. Hudgens and Efron won the “Best Chemistry” award at the Teen Choice Awards for their roles. Unlike her role in High School Musical, Vanessa never had a chance to go to a real high school. She has been home-schooled since after her seventh-grade year at the Orange County High School of the Arts due to her busy schedule.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens Racy Photos Scandal:
On September 6, 2007, controversy erupted after racy photos — including one of her in the nude — of Hudgens surfaced online. In the photo, Hudgens posing naked in what appears to be a red shower curtain in a bathroom. Hudgens later apologized, saying that she was “embarrassed over the situation” and regretted having “taken [those] photos”. Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague indicated that Disney will still be working with Hudgens, stating, “Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she’s learned a valuable lesson.”
Vanessa Hudgens Sued by Her Lawyer
Sued by her lawyer for two years of unpaid lawyers fees. Attorney Brian Schall filed a lawsuit on Monday, 17 Sept 2007, claiming Hudgens agreed to pay him 5 percent of her earnings in exchange for his legal representation since October 2005.
He contends the 18-year-old actress has earned more than $5 million since then, but she still owes him a balance of $150,000 in legal fees, according to the lawsuit.
