The Asian beauty, Sufiah Yusof, was a child prodigy with a talent in mathematics that won her a spot at Oxford at the age of 13 somehow found her way into prostitution. Calling herself Shilpa Lee, 23-year-old Sufiah advertises her body on an internet sex site and operates out of a back street flat in Salford, charging 130 pounds an hour or $258. On the website, she describes herself as a ‘”very pretty size 8, 32D bust and 5ft 5in tall - available for booking every day from 11am to 8pm”. She adds that she is a “sexy, smart student” who prefers “older gentlemen”.
The News of the World described how Miss Yusof was armed with three mobile phones as she welcomed an undercover reporter who was posing as a client at her flat. ‘Would you like to start your half-hour now?’ Ms Sufiah, asked the reporter as she danced on the bed, displaying her body for examination.
Sufiah’s family are devout Muslims who begin each day with prayers, followed by exercise to focus the mind and body. Yusof and two siblings won university places in their teens but she ran away at age 15 with claims of pressure from her parents. She wrote, “I’ve finally had enough of 15 years of physical and emotional abuse.” She accused her “controlling and bullying” father of forcing her to work in the cold to aid concentration and added that she never wanted to see him again.
When she was found by police in an internet café she refused to return to her parents and was taken into care by a foster family. Later, she returned to Oxford to complete the final year of her Masters in Maths. But she failed to finish the course after having met trainee lawyer Jonathan Marshall. The pair met at a Law Society function more than a year ago, after Sufiah returned to Oxford in October 2002 to complete her final year. They married in 2004 but the couple divorced 13 months later. Jonathan, the son of Christians, was introduced to Islam by Sufiah and converted to the Muslim faith.
Sufiah Yusof’s brother, Iskander, aged 12, and sister Aisha, 16, started at Warwick University in 1998, making them the youngest brother and sister to study together at university at the time. All five children have been taught at home by their Malaysian-born parents.
Sufiah’s 50-year-old father, Farooq, is now in jail for 18 months after being convicted of sexually assaulting two 15-year-old girls he taught at his home in Coventry. In January, the Daily Mail revealed that her father Farooq had been remanded in custody after admitting sexually assaulting two girls, both aged 15. Appearing under his real surname of Khan, he was jailed for 18 months at Coventry Crown Court last week after a judge heard how he had groped the two girls when he was home tutoring them at maths.
