Cellphone gets tattoed? yes, it’s Motorola RAZR cellular phone. After launching the successful RAZR, Motorola came up with another idea on how to boost their already increasing reputation, the laser-etched tattooed phone.

Motorola displayed the first of the designs, a dragon, the new series of RAZR phones with tattoo designs etched on the front and back casing.Motorola execs said that the idea of putting laser-etched tattoos on their Razrs is a product of a brainstorming session as to how they can sustain the already record-breaking sales of the RAZR phones. Jeremy Dale, VP for Motorola, believes that tattooed Razrs will be a hit with an even bigger market because “People today are looking to make personal statements, with the clothes that they wear, the bars that they go to, and their phones have become a fashion item.”  

The laser-etched tattoos are designed by Ami James of the hit TV show “Miami Ink”. Motorola converts James’ images to a digital format, and using computer-assisted design, etches them on the high-grade aluminum phone bodies.   

Motorola expects to launch the tats worldwide, but has not named which mobile companies will carry them, also they expect to begin selling the new laser-etched phone by the end of the year, but a date hasn’t been confirmed yet.
