New Samsung PDP Daylight Plus Model
Samsung Electronics has released Plasma Display Panel TVs with a contrast ratio four times as high as ordinary PDP TVs to enable viewers to watch TV in broad daylight. Using new filter technology, the daylight plus model enables users to see images clearly in bright light and comes in a 42-inch and a 50-inch version. The higher the contrast ratio, the closer images are to their original appearance.  Samsung Electronics also developed an exterior storage device dubbed Anyview with a 300-GB hard disk that can store up to 30 hours of programs, making it possible to record them in real time and thus pause live programs and resume watching them later.

Available now (in Korea) for $3,400 and $4,700.
