Samsung Electronics has announced that it has developed the world’s first “Blue Phase” LCD panel - which will offer more natural moving images with an unprecedented image-driving speed of 240 Hertz (Hz). Samsung Electronics has launched their 70-inch Full HD LCD television in Korea today, 14th June 2007. The new TV boasts Samsung’s very best image enhancement technologies and employs a light-emitting diode (LED) backlight instead of the conventional cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) version. Samsung Electronics has released Plasma Display Panel TVs with a contrast ratio four times as high as ordinary PDP TVs to enable viewers to watch TV in broad daylight. Using new filter technology, the daylight plus model enables users to see images clearly in bright light and comes in a 42-inch and a 50-inch version. The higher the contrast ratio, the closer images are to their original appearance.  Samsung Electronics also developed an exterior storage device dubbed Anyview with a 300-GB hard disk that can store up to 30 hours of programs, making it possible to record them in real time and thus pause live programs and resume watching them later.

Available now (in Korea) for $3,400 and $4,700.
